Armstrong & Charlie (2019 Sequoyah Nominee)

Armstrong & CharlieArmstrong isn’t looking forward to 6th grade and neither is Charlie. Armstrong will have to wake up extra early to ride a buss to an all white school across town.  Charlie and his family are struggling to move on after the death of his older brother. When both boys begin school they are rivals, but they soon learn that even though their lives are different they are the same too. The story is set in the 1970s in Los Angles when the desegregation of schools becomes law and there are many changes taking place across the country but Armstrong and Charlie become united despite the country’s divide.
